1971 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2 Coupe
1971 Jaguar E-Type series 2 4.2 Coupe finished in Regency Red with Beige hide interior. Odometer reading just 44,000 miles with impressive history file. This beautiful example had had just 3 owners from new, and has been a Kent based car from new. The car was purchased by Mr Avery of Park House, Boxley, Kent. Mr Avery kept the car until 1978 when it was purchased by Mr Maskell of Maidstone, Kent. Mr Maskell kept the car for 32 years until 2010 when it was purchased by its last owner in Ramsgate, Kent. In recent years a new clutch has been fitted and while the engine was removed, it was fully overhauled, at the same time the car has also had new brakes and brake pipes all round and new shock absorbers all meaning the car runs and drives beautifully especially due to the very rare factory fitted power steering, which only became an option of the very last of the series 2 E-Types. The bodywork has been stripped to bare metal and re painted to an extremely high standard in the original Regency Red, there was no body repairs required so all the metalwork is original. The interior is also very original and in super condition due to the low mileage of the vehicle, with original beige leather, original headlining and original tools and radio. Offered with a comprehensive history file including many invoices and records dating back to when the car was new. The history file also includes the original handbook folder, complete with all original supplement and stamped service books. Overall this is an outstanding example of a low mileage, low ownership late series 2 E-Type which has not been over restored and retains many original features in truly beautiful condition throughout.
