1970 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Long Wheel Base with Division finished in Masons Black with Julian Fawn cloth interior. Covered only 52,000 miles from new with just 2 previous owners.
The car was delivered in March 1970 to the Iranian ambassador, Amir Khosrow Afshar and was registered with his own personal registration ‘1 PER’. The car was garaged at the Iranian embassy at 16 Princess Gate, South Kensington, London where, until 1999 it used by the Iranian ambassador covering an average of just under 2,000 miles a year. In 1997 the car was registered with the diplomatic registration ‘181 D 215’. Throughout the 29 years at the embassy, it was maintained by Rolls-Royce London Service Centre and Jack Barclay of Mayfair. In 1999 the car was sold to its first, and only private owners by Queens Road Cars, the new owners were Mr & Mrs Haywood of Poole, Dorset. During their 21 years of ownership the car covered few miles but was MOT’d every year and maintained correctly, the work included a brake overhaul, with overhauled callipers, all new brake hoses, new master cylinder, brake pumps overhauled and brake reservoir overhauled.
The car retains its original livery, finished in Masons Black and gold fine lines. The interior too is totally original, trimmed in Julian Fawn cloth with Beige leather piping and Cumberland Stone Wilton carpets. Being a LWB ‘formal Saloon’ the rear passengers can enjoy 4” of extra leg room along with separate radio, separate rear air condoning unit, electronic glass division, separate rear door locks an intercom system, and separate rear heating.
