1965 Bentley S3
LWB Touring Limousine SCT100 Division by James Young 1 of 7
Very rare 1965 Bentley S3 Long Wheel Base Touring Limousine built to the SCT100 design by James Young of Bromley. Just 7 of these motor cars were built as Bentleys and all were built from scratch at James Young as opposed to being converted from a standard car. The car is attractively finished in Rosewood over Gold with Light beige hide interior. Fitted separate rear air conditioning, electric glass division, rear reading lights, adjustable foot rests, rear drinks cabinet and opening quarter lights. The chassis, LBCL 12 was delivered to James Young on the 18th May 1965, after construction and rigorous testing, the car was delivered it its first owner, Leonard Sainer, of 22 Park Street, Mayfair. Mr Sainer was the founder of Titmuss Sainer and Webb which was regarded as Great Britain’s leading solicitors at the time. During his ownership the car was fastidiously maintained by Hoopers & Co. Mr Sainer sold the car in 1984 to Laurence Kayne, renowned Rolls-Royce & Bentley dealer and collector of Berkeley Square, London. After Mr Kaynes ownership the Bentley spent many years abroad, in the warm dry climates of Australlia and the USA. Returning to the UK in 2007, it has been owned and cosseted by the same gentleman owner ever since. The recent servicing and maintenance has been carried out by Bentley specialists, Axtell Ltd of Guildford. Offered with an impressive history file which consists of over 200 pages of service records back to the late 1960’s. Presented in stunning condition throughout. This extremely rare Bentley surely represents a collectors dream as well as being a beautiful motor car which is equally suited to showing or touring.
